Greg's parents visit and trips to Efteling and Disney July 2011

Greg's parents arrived July 21st, safe and sound and a bit tired.  The boys were very excited to see them again.  Their first few days here were very busy. Greg took them to Brugge the day after they arrived. We also went to Gaasbeek Castle, Grand Place and an outdoor market in the few days before we headed up to the Netherlands and enjoyed an amusement park called Efteling.  (Walt Disney based Disney off this park).

Jax enjoyed playing in the old train engine.

Greg and I took advantage of a kid free moment and went on the indoor roller coaster in the condor behind us.

We stayed at Efteling for 3 days. We had a great 4 bedroom town house on the water with a little deck.  It was the perfect place for a young family with kids. The only thing if you go there bring your own soap and shampoo, or you can buy a package of stuff for 3 euro.

Efteling is the largest amusement park I have ever been to. There were many different areas. One area was about the fairtales from the area, unfortunately since we don't know Dutch we could only enjoy this displays and not the stories. The people who worked there were very nice, but there were a lot of visitors.
We were able to see a really cool horse show. Here is a few minutes.

The boys got this paper helmets after the show, too bad there heads were not big enough to keep them up.

We saw a lot of people with these big chickens, so we figured they must be easy to win. You got 6 balls and had to knock over 3 rag doll pins. Greg tried, no luck. Aidan tried, no. I tried and with my last  2 balls I knocked 2 over, the lady was nice and gave me 1 more ball and with that I got the last one down and one the big chicken.  I tried again so both boys would have one but no luck.

There are different locations in the park where you right down your wish and it gets sucked up by the cannon in this picture. Aidan wished to go back to MN.

One of the nice things is that this park is only about an hour and 15 minutes from us.

Jax was tall enough to go on a ride called the bobsled, we went on it many times, the closest you can get to a roller coaster for his height.
